It is generally accepted that autumn is a dull and boring time. And in fact: a carefree hot summer was left behind, and winter is about to “take away the remaining shades of“ warm ”colors and cover everything around with a white, snow cover. But it is worth taking a closer look at the surrounding nature a little more closely, and its autumn unforgettable beauty immediately captivates with its natural form and burning colors.
The autumn garden is a truly beautiful sight, the kingdom of various shades and colors! Two main periods in his life are clearly distinguished: until the beginning of October (until the first frosts) and from October to late autumn. The first frosts carry destruction for flowers and plants, the historical homeland of which is warm abroad (dahlias, gladioli, crocosmes and others). With the beginning of October, the main role in the garden ensemble begins to play a form, not color (by this time, most plants are losing its colors), but this does not mean at all that we should immediately cut faded plants: to give the fullness of the garden landscape their presence.
Not all autumn flowers begin their life with the advent of September, many of them bloom back in the summer. These include crocuses with colchics; The former delight the eyes with blue and purple shades, the latter with pink and lilac colors. Certain representatives of the iris (for example, blooming in early September with red-orange crocosmes) manage to survive even a harsh Russian winter. True, for this they should be insulated with a 20-centimeter layer of sawdust and covered with a wire film.
Phloxes, monartes, echinacea – thanks to them, the beginning of autumn is not inferior in its beauty even to summer diversity. Red-raspberry inflorescences of garden monarchs will decorate any square or park, and their fragrant leaves can be added to tea to give the piquancy to taste.
The most later autumn is the kingdom of asters. These flowers continue to delight with their warmth and when winter is already feeling on the street. Winter feels. And only the November snow puts the final point in the fieria of the autumn garden.
