How to repair cast -iron baths with your own hands

Most often, it is necessary to repair cast -iron baths, if you are not only sorry, but it is also enough to throw away the old bath. There are three options for restoration of cast iron baths. The first is the so -called acrylic insert, the second is a “bulk bath”, and the third is the coating of a bully from cast iron enamel.

Instructions:

1. The method of restoration of the bath from cast iron through enamel is the cheapest. First of all, you need to buy a certain enamel. Next, using an ordinary brush, manually cover your bath with enamel.

2. Enamel should be applied from above – from the sides – down – to the bottom, so you can minimize the likely smudges. You can also use a roller for these purposes, but in this case enamel consumption will increase. Enamel can be applied to several layers. After completing the procedure, you should not use the bathroom for three days. During this period of time, it must dry completely. It would be nice to have an additional and shower corner in the bathroom in the bathroom.

3. The second way of restoration of the cast -iron bath is the “bulk bath”. This method is the most time -consuming and dusty. It is used if there are deep cracks and chips on the cast iron. To do this, you should find an unnecessary sheet and a lot of newspapers. The essence of this technique is the no liquid stuck, which instantly fills all the hollows and voids, while aligning the surface of the bath. After the completion of all manipulations, the cast -iron bathtub will be ready for use after about four days. In comparison with the past method, this method allows you to get a smooth surface of the bath and extend its operational period.

4. And the last, in the third way is to restore the surface of the bathtub from cast iron using acrylic liners, which are solid acrylic. Also, this method is also called a “bath in a bath” in a different way, since its essence is that a solid acrylic liner is on the bath on top, and then be attached to its sides. However, first of all, this liner should be made, having previously made measurements of the bath itself.

5. With the help of each of the above methods, you can return your primordial appearance to your bath for a long time from cast iron. However, it is also important to observe all conditions for the proper care of the restored bathroom. In this case, the enamel will be able to last ten more years more.
