Traditionally, samovars were considered a sign of Russian culture, its ancient, true heritage. However, this kind of kitchen utensils are found in other countries. So, boiling water in the vessel was used in ancient Rome, when a stone heated steel was lowered in a small loan filled with water. In China, there was a special dish called HOO-Mo-Mo-Mo-Major, made in the form of a tube and a vessel. In Western Europe there were similar to our Russian samovars. But in none of these countries, the samovar managed to exist as long as in Rus’.
A samovar for a Russian person has always been considered a sign of prosperity. It could be included in the attached bride, its presence in the house spoke of an influential and stable position in society.
Over time, the samovars began to appear even in peasant simple huts. True, they were not decorated and painted with expensive materials. These were the simplest cast vessels with a standard device. But even such a simple samovar, the owners of their house with zeal were covered to a brilliance, put in the center of the room, as the most important property of their life.
When Peter 1 brought a noble expensive tea to Russia, they began to brew it only in samovars. In Europe, this method of preparing tea was called a tea machine. Today, the samovar is used exclusively to brew the best varieties of tea, such as green and black bayching tea.
But the usual purpose of the samovar in Rus’, such as the preparation of broths, soups and stew, needed its place, and over time began to make samovars, having two compartments at once – for food and for tea. True, soon this design ceased to exist, since more convenient dishes and furnaces arose, and the frying itself needed very large coal costs.
Most of us even managed to find the time when the samovar stood on the table as its jewelry and was used only in the most solemn occasions. Then the samovars completely disappeared from everyday life.
Today, samovars have reappeared on sale, while samovars are available to anyone who wants to enjoy incredibly tasty tea, which cannot be obtained with ordinary brewing.
