Considering various floor coverings for the house, we do not ignore linoleum. Everyone knows its properties. Easy in operation. But do we know everything about its composition?
Linoleum is divided into natural and polyvinyl chloride. The first species is made of natural resins, oils and fabrics. Such material is environmentally friendly, safe and does not change its properties even if you put on the floor with heated.
With synthetic linoleum, not everything is so simple. Firstly, it is not so safe. Secondly, its characteristics largely depend on the technical conditions of the manufacturer. In addition, linoleum made of polyvinyl chloride is divided into several types:
Linoleum homogeneous. This coating is a homogeneous canvas with a thickness of 1 to 3 millimeters. The main advantage of this type of linoleum is wear resistance. Thanks to the through drawing, the life of the operation is very large. And yet, before buying, check the material. Bend a piece of linoleum heavily. There should not be any traces on it. Only in this case you can be confident as a coating.
Linoleum is heterogeneous. This type of linoleum is also called composite. Its thickness varies from 2 to 6 millimeters. In this case, the drawing is not through and is applied in one layer. Such linoleum should be chosen for those rooms where there is no very large number of people.
Mixed linoleum. This coating consists of a homogeneous layer and a base of foamed polyvinyl chloride reinforced with fiberglass. On top it is covered with protective polyurethane film. The wear resistance of linoleum in this case is determined by the wear resistance of the film. It is she who protects and holds all layers of the coating together.
